Derek Uyeda, Principal Cost Estimator Consultant. Derek Uyeda, a versatile construction estimator/project manager brings 21 years of experience in all disciplines of construction projects (commercial, government, hospitality, mixed-use residential, residential) providing competitive, negotiated and conceptual estimating with constructibility review & value engineering, field experience including detailed cost forecasting, critical path scheduling, management of onsite staff & subcontractors from project start through punch list and closeout. Derek is an exceptional team player and excels at building professional relationships with owners, consultants and subcontractors. He is currently supporting the Port of Seattle Aviation Project Management Group with Capital Improvement Projects as a Sr. Cost Estimator.

Brian Hood (MBA PMP), Sr. Project Controls & Risk Management Consultant. Brian has more than 15 years of experience in project delivery/controls encompassing management and maintenance of project and construction schedules, risk management and establishment/implementation of Project Management Office (PMO) in various industries such as airport terminal construction, school construction, marine harbor, road and rail-based transportation, nuclear power generation, petrochemical and wireless telecommunications. Brian is also an expert in developing and conducting training curriculums in multiple industries on various software solutions and has specifically developed best of class training for the Primavera suite of tools. Brian has served as a Director of Training and Risk Management where he delivered risk management and training services to clients on worldwide program and projects. Among his projects include the Panama Canal and Miami-Dade International Airport. He is currently supporting the Seattle Public Utilities providing project controls services.

Lal Yapa, Principal Cost Estimator Consultant. Lal is a chief estimating professional who brings with him 30 years of unsurpassed experience creating accurate, detailed cost projections for complex projects across the US and international locations. He is very adept at balancing demands of multiple concurrent projects, providing leadership to estimating teams and processes while driving pre-construction activities and serving as a mentor and leader to support success. Lal possesses a unique expertise in multidisciplinary cost estimating including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and special systems. He is recognized for delivery of precise and accurate cost estimates to support mega-funded projects with clients across many sectors and industries. His experience includes extensive work in hard bid, unit price, negotiated fixed price/GMP Design-Build, FEED and EPC contracting estimates. He is currently supporting the Port of Seattle Aviation Project Management Group with Capital Improvement Projects as a Principal/Chief Cost Estimator.

Martin De Young, Sr. Project Controls Consultant/Scheduler. Mr. De Young is a veteran with 30 years of experience managing and maintaining project and construction schedules in various industries including airport terminal, school, university & casino construction, rapid transit, convention center, commercial, federal, telecommunications and wastewater. He has managed several projects at different locations with varying magnitude and complexity. Examples of his projects include the Los Angeles Airport Addition, United Airlines North Terminal Renovation in South San Francisco California, Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco California and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Expansion in Millbrae California. Martin has extensive construction experience in addition to solid training in planning and is very good at listening and assessing customer’s needs. He is currently supporting the Port of Seattle Aviation Project Management Group with Capital Improvement Projects as a Lead Program Scheduler.
